I’ve heard the word either pronounced both ways. I say it the first way, my son’s friend says it the second way. My son actually says it both ways depending on who he’s with.
It’s a word, though, not a name. There are far better names out there.

I would say it like the word eye-ther or ee-ther. I would spell it Ayther or something similar, because I definitely wouldn’t have got your pronunciation no matter how many times I guessed. Plus, I don’t think it’s attractive at all.
