I don’t think Doris is that nice. I just don’t think it has a place in today’s world. Only as a middle name. Sorry.

Dora is my fav. But I think Dottie is a bit of a stretch for the nickname.

Whatever you do don’t name her Dora, she will be called Dora the explorer her whole life.
Why don’t you just name her Dottie? I have a friend that named her little girl Dottie and I think it’s adorable!

I love Dorothea. It’s a beautiful, classic name. It means "gift of God." Dottie is most appropriate as a nickname for Dorothea.
