I have heard this as a male name but I definitely prefer it on a girl.

I have only seen this as a girl name. I guess if you were going for a name to shorten to NN Edie this is preferable to Edith. But to me, Eden is the Biblical place of both perfection (initially) and the tragic introduction of sin leading to the downfall of mankind, so it kind of has a bittersweet meaning for me. I’m not sure I would use it personally.

I think Eden is beautiful for a girl. Way too girly for a boy.
