Finley for a girl? vs. Opinions??

I have always loved the name Finley but have never had the chance to use it, I’m expecting my fifth (and last) child so won’thave the chance to use the name unless I name her Finley... any thoughts? She will have three older sisters (Alice (Ali), Georgina (George) and Hannah) and one older brother (Nicholas)... we would have named Nicholas Finley but he was named after a close family friend who unfortunately passed away a few weeks before Nicholas was born... Anyway, your opinions on whether Finley can be used for a girl’s name are greatly appreciated :)

I love it on a girl, but it doesn’t go well with your other kids names. If that doesn’t bother you, then go for it! Finley Madeline is the name of my friend’s niece.

I guess it could be used on a girl, but with her siblings names I would think she was a boy. Plus I just think its rather trendy and will become dated fast ( Boys names on girls, names ending in lee sound are huge right now.) Fiona is the feminine form of Finn. Maybe Fiona Lee and nickname her Finley?

My two year old daughter’s name is Finley Noelle. I loved it when I had her and I still love it today. Couldnt imagine her name being anything else.

Really dislike it for girls (or any male name on a female) and it really looks like a boy in that sibset.

I dislike Finley on a girl, although I love it on a boy. I would definitely assume Finley was a boy with your other children’s names.

I actually prefer Finley on a girl. I just think it sounds girly, like a feminine version of the name Finn.

In my opinion I love Finley for a boy, but would only use it on a middle name. However, I can see why people think it’s cute on girls too. But with your other children’s names I feel like it’s too out there and is the opposite of the other naming style. Maybe better as her middle name? Or there’s also Finna too!
Good luck!

You could try giving it a more feminine feel if you wanted, like Fynlee. Or if that doesn’t bother you just keep it as it is!
