Elsie Rose vs. Essie Rose
Trying to honor baby E’s great grandparents. Essie is the name of the woman who raised my grandfather, whom he thought the world of. Ella is the name of my grandmother, who I thought the world of, but a sibling beat me to it.
Is Elsie the cute, early 1900 era name I believe it to be, or should I let it go and use Essie?

I really love Elsa Rose with the nickname Elsie.
My daughter goes to school with an Elsie. She’s a lovely little girl. And I always think the name is sweet and pretty. But Essie is even better!!
I do love Essie itself....plus it relieves my annoyance with the association Elsa/Elsie has to Frozen.
I think Elsie is adorable! I love the idea of Elsa nn Elsie too, but I think Elsie can stand on its own
Essie just makes me think of the nail polish brand
I love Elsie!
Elsa nn Essie!
Thank you! I’m really happy to receive positive feedback! I was nervous that the names would be seen as old-womanish, but I think they’re just old enough to be fresh again! I do love Elsie because it’s a two in one...the more meaning I can cram into the name, the better!
Stick to your guns hun! Elsie is a divine name!
Elsie is a fabulous name. Use that one!
Use Elisa. More grown, polished, flattering and pretty than Elsie and Essie. Plus it combines Ella and Essie!
