Emmarie vs. Emrey

I love the name Emery but I really want my daughter to have an A in her name so we found an alternative spelling, Emmarie, but Emery is the correct spelling and I don’t want her to spend her whole life spelling her name, but one of my qualifications for her name from the beginning was it has to have an A in it and I feel like I would be upset later if I spelled it without an A. I’m just not sure what to do! Please give your opinion. It would be really appreciated! Her older sister is Lacey(3). Thanks!

I like Emery best but if the A is truly that important then I would have to say Emary.I definitely like the idea of keeping it 5 letters long and ending with the y to fit with Lacey.

I like how you spelled it Emmarie. It looks more feminine on a more neutral name. I don’t think you should worry about her having to correct people. She’ll have to do it once and then they’ll always remember (because it’s so pretty ;) ).
Good luck!

P.S. I have a brother Darin. The normal spelling is Darren. He didn’t have a problem with it. Do what works for you.

How about Emmaline?

Call her Emma or Emmaline, Emery is a boys name and misspelling won’t make it feminine

I love Emery, but Emmarie looks awful, imo. It looks like you are trying way too hard to make the name more feminine and girly.

I think it just depends on what you’d be more upset over...not having an A in her name, or constantly having to spell out her name. I love the name Emery, and Emmarie isn’t a horrible spelling if you desperately want the A in there.
