Eric Jonathan vs. Erik Jonathan

Either spelling will work but Eric might be better. That’s how it’ll get spelled most of the time anyway.

I like Erik spelling better. I think it looks more masculine/tough. But Eric is more common. Because of my husband’s Scandinavian ancestry, we’d go with Erik if we used that name, but in general I try to use the most common spellings.

My daughter is having a baby boy in Sept. and they have chosen Erik John for their little guy. I don’t think you can go wrong with either spelling. Granted it might be missed spelled once in awhile, but at least there shouldn’t be 10 kids with the same name in his class when he goes to school.
