Analeigh vs. Stick with it vs. Avoid it

My husband and I fell in love with this name and had our hearts set on it but when we told our friends and family some of them pointed out that the first 4 letters spell out "anal"...we honestly never thought of this before someone said it. Should we stick with it or find a different name?

I’d be more concerned with pronunciations. "anally" will be annoying. Have you considered Analiese or Amelie (omma-lee)

Or Annalee, Anna-Lee, or something similar. It’s good that your family and friends caught that early on, or it would be noticed once she got to school.

We had thought of that but are concerned that people would constantly pronounce it Ann-ah-lee.

I’ve several friends who have names that start with "anal" and I always wondered why their parents never caught on to that. It seems so awkward, and honestly, that’s the first thing I see.

It’s my daughters name, so I stay stuck with it. Kids will tease for anything.

If people stayed away from every name that could be teased, no one would have a name. No one would take a job as an "analyst", and no one would name their child things like "Titus", "tucker" "analise" "anissa" "anais"., etc. if you teach your children confidence then they will be able to handle any teasing, wether it be a first name, last name, hair color, height, shoe size, etc. go with what you love
