Logan vs. McKenna

We haven’t found out the gender of the baby yet but I’ve already started thinking of names. We have a son named Carson and I thought of Logan Tyler for a boy and McKenna Paige for a girl. My husband thinks Logan could go for a girl too but I don’t want people to think of two boys when I tell them my children’s names. He doesn’t like McKenna because he says it sounds like a stripper name (What?!). What do you think? Do you have any suggestions of names that might fit well with Carson?

I think both names sound great! McKenna Paige doesn’t sound like a stripper to me.

Kenna is nice, but McKenna is kind of tacky. Sorry, but the Mc names on girls are so over done and trendy.

Logan is awesome for a boy. You’re right that a sibset of Carson and Logan sounds like brothers.

McKenna Paige sounds like a boy. McKenna literally means "son of Kenneth" and Paige is an occupational boys name (and not a very flattering one at that!)

Carson & Logan are perfect for brothers!

I love the name Logan! Logan Tyler is beautiful on a boy, and matches perfectly with your other son. I agree that Logan should not be used on a girl. I’m all for boy names on girls, if the names rant too extreme. Logan is too extreme, because I didn’t even think that it was being used on girls.
And... You’re right. I would assume you had two sons.
I think McKenna is ok, but the names starting in Mc are being overused. It’s fine if u use it, but you might want to reconsider.

McKenna and Paige are girls names! I have never heard either of these names on a boy, only on girls!

All the Mc and Mac names just look like the parents are trying desperately to be trendy and unique. Except that there are so many Mc and Mac names that they all blur together. If you’re looking for a standout name, drop the Mc and just go with Kenna. That’s simple and lovely.

Logan is very handsome and would be a good brother name for Carson.

Logan is great for a boy, not for a girl. McKenna doesn’t sound like a strippers name but I’d keep looking, try to find something you both like.

There’s a list I read a while back where some researcher went through a bunch of forums, some that focused on baby names and some that didn’t, and came up with the top most disliked names. A couple of them were Mac- names, though I don’t remember which ones. You could probably google it. I think they called it the most hated baby names list or something similar.

I love the name McKenna and it does not seem like a stripper name to me.

So it sounds like Logan is a keeper. I just liked McKenna because I’ve never met anyone with that name where I’m from. If you don’t like it, what do you think would sound better? I’m finding it so much harder to choose a girl name.

When people say "stripper name" they often mean tacky. So if that’s what he meant, I’m afraid I have to agree. Though I think it’s slightly less tacky than Logan on a girl.

Logan and Carson both sound like boy names to me and go together well.

Logan is cute, but a little too popular for my taste, and while I have heard (and even met) girls with the name Logan, I think it better suits a boy. Tyler, I feel the same way about - cute sound, but too popular. McKenna is super cute. I don’t at all picture a stripper. Paige works well with McKenna.
