Milo vs. Margo
This obviously needs a bit of explaining. Milo is my favorite male name. Margo my favorite female name. Separate they are perfectly fine, but if we get a boy first, named Milo, then Margo would be out if we have a girl second, because the names are so similar in look and sound that is silly. And viceversa. If we get a Margo, then we couldn’t have a Milo for no. 2. So, which one would you keep at the expense of the other?

That’s a tough one. I say whichever you have first, if you have a girl first name her Margo and worry about a different boy name when the time comes and vice-versa. Because you never know.. what if you end up having a girl and then you try again for a boy but end up with another girl so you try again and by then it could be years later and your taste in names may have changed or you may find a different name by then that you love more. I hope I am making sense. Just go with the names you love now and worry about the other later.

Yes, I do like Leo, Hugo and Enzo :) lovely alternatives. I like Margaret and Maired, but I don’t think I would go for these. Thank you all for your help so far. Keep it comming.

You are absolutely right that we should take it one baby at a time. I just keep going around in circles because I live both names. Lilo is very pretty, but our last name starts with L.

By the time you have your second baby you may well have a different favourite name so stop worrying. Just choose the first baby’s name.

I’m not crazy about either, but I think a boy named Milo would be cuter than a girl named Margo. And no, I definitely wouldn’t use them both because they are very similar.
