What Do vs. You Think vs. Of Luke?
We are expecting our second child - another boy! DH would really like to use Luke for his name. I’m a teacher and all the Lukes I have ever taught have been such pains! However, our elder son is called Simon, which I adore and DH allowed despite having bad connotations with the name (he now loves the name Simon). What do you think of the name Luke? We don’t like Lucas. Thanks! Carla, John, Simon and baby.

Luke is a cute name, I have only know one Luke (also work at a school) and he was a great kid.

I just think it’s been overused at this point. Especially compared to the much less common (and extremely handsome!) Simon. Other than that, I have no particular associations.

Luke is what we will use if we ever have another boy! I let my husband name our daughter Sara, even though every Sara/Sarah I grew up with was a stuck up snob. My daughter couldn’t be further from a snob (she is almost 12yrs old, by the way) and her name just fits her, so you might just have a Luke who breaks the mold!

Luke is such a handsome and classic name and I definitely don’t make an association with it fitting "bratty" kids.I think Luke is a wonderful choice!

I love Luke. It’s such a cool, laid back sounding name. When I think of someone named Luke, I just picture a really cool guy.
