Kaitlyn vs. Caitlin vs. Other Spellings
I prefer the spelling Kaitlyn but a lot of people have said its better to spell it Caitlin. However if I spelled it Caitlin it looks far to close to Cailin which is my cousins name, also with the C I have a sister named Carol and my name is Catherine. I wanted to use a variation of my name without it being too close and have its own feel. What do you think?

Go for Kaitlin! You love it, and it is very pretty. Caitlin isn’t the better spelling, it’s their opinion. Kaitlin is beautiful, and your daughter will be downright gorgeous as well.

My younger sisters name is spelled Caitlyn. It looks pretty that way to me. Even if her name was spelled different, I would like it better.
Not to be rude but first poster did you not read what I said about my name being Catherine and when I said I wanted to use a variation of my name I didn’t mean my name spelled differently. So far I’ll be sticking with Kaitlyn.

Katelyn has always been my favourite spelling of the name, mostly because it actually has Kate spelled out in it.
