Use Maxine, and put Max as a nickname.

As someone with a son named Maxwell I’m going to have to vote no. It butchers the name in my opinion. Perhaps, Lux?

No no no. Cool nickname but teachers, gps and employers would constantly be expecting to see a male.. And also she may want to go by something more practical or feminine at a young age but be stuck with a boys name.

Yes I have a 5 year old niece named Max, and she says she loves her name.

If I named my daughter this I think she would hate me, she switches between Charlotte and Charlie I think it’s nice to have the option of both a nicknamy name and a formal name.

My fear of using this name for a girl would be the dreaded Maxi nickname. I always consider the nickname and teasing potential.

YES!! Max is SUCH a cute name for a girl!!! One of the coolest and cutest names on a girl of all ages! If you wanted a longer name and went with the nn Max, you could do Maxine which I find really pretty and I also really like the suggested Maximilliana as someone above suggested. I don’t care for Maximillian for a boy but the girl version is stunningly beautiful!!

Love this name for a girl actually. I wouldn’t mind having this name myself! I would go with Maximilliana and use the nn Max though just because this is the first time I’ve ever heard Maximilliana and I am now in love with it. Using both names would be the best of both worlds. Good luck! And hope you go with Max whether as a full or nick name!

Just as much as it could work as a full name for a boy. I don’t care for the name at all, but I don’t see anything wrong with it being a full name, as I don’t like any of the full names it could be short for.
