Miranda has nn randa,too. Sounds like a girls name in high school popular years ago imo. But I didn’t vote before.

I’ve never known a Miranda, though I’ve heard the name. Which makes me think its a nice unique but classic name if you like it. Its also the name of one of the sex in the city girls, which might make it a little more popular now. As for the other commenter thinking its plain, it all depends on your child’s personality. The name doesn’t make the child.

I love the name Miranda...it’s sophisticated but cute and will age well...and it’s much better than these newer trendier names people are using, so that’s why I don’t understand the negative comments that you are getting

I can understand why people wouldn’t like a name because of the nn. More than likely, they will be used. People like to give nicknames, and if you don’t like the one that goes along with the name, you might as well not use it.

I would call her miranda. Thanks for the feedback guys. I also feel it is a very girl sophistcated name but everyone is intiteled to their opinion!

What do you think of the nn Mira for Miranda pronounced (My-ra)? I think that would be beautiful and you could you Mira when she is young and night quite grown up enough for a name like Miranda.

I think it is a very classy name. You could come up with all sorts of nice nicknames other than Randi. I like the suggestions of Mira and Mindy and you could also get Mia or Andi out of it. I can see a sweet little girl with this name who grows up to be a CEO or an artist...it’s very versitile!

I think Miranda is a great name, and I would not use a nickname.. not every name needs a nickname! Loved Miranda on SATC too.. it’s a classic name that will age well.
