I do like Georgia, but I feel a bit weird using Georgie as a nickname with both having 2 syllables.

Nicknames don’t have to be shorter than the full name. In truth, nicknames don’t even have to be related to the original name at all (my younger son’s name is Zachary David, and we call him Zach as well as Zach-Man ... similar to packman because he eats so much; our older son’s name is Ian Alexander, but we call him Speedy Gonzalez sometimes because he loves to run). So, nicknames can be short, longer, or totally unrelated to the original name. No reason for Georgia nn Georgie to feel weird! :-)
