Nevaia (ne-VAY-uh) vs. Yes vs. No

We love the way the name Nevaeh sounds but aren’t so in love with the fact it’s heaven spelt backwards. So what do you think of the spelling Nevaia? And we know it means heaven spelt backwards but that doesn’t bother us. We also don’t like the hatred people have of the ’heaven spelt backwards’ part, so we want to know what you guys think - do you like the name and the sound of it with the different spelling? Thanks so much! - Lucy, Ben, Emilia Anabel (7), Noah Oliver (5), Maia (MY-uh) Sophie (2) and baby girl

Nevaia would be pronounced Ne-vy-uh, like Maia.

How about Aleah or Aaliyah!

How about Azalea or Dahlia!

It looks like NevYa. I think you should just name her Haven.

Nevaya maybe? I think it’s a pretty name but I know what you mean by the negativity around it. It’s like the F word on this site. Lol

Either one Nevaia or Nevaya would be pronounced ne-vy-uh. I would either go with Nevaeh or find a different name, there’s no point in butchering a beautiful name with a horrible spelling.

No, any which way that it is spelled, it is not pretty. Does not go well with siblings names. They have pretty names and normal.

I don’t think Nevaia/Nevaeh fits in with your older children’s names. Dehlia or Delilah would fit in better.

Nevaeh is STUNNINGLY beautiful, and the meaning is what makes it even more gorgeous, meaningful, and ethereal. I’m kind of confuse, you don’t like the mean because it means heaven? Or just don’t like the fact that its heaven spelled backwards? And why are others hating the name? Sorry, was a bit hard following your post and I’m just curious.

Nevaia looks beautiful and it could work, it definitely COULD be pronounced Nuh-vy-yh, but so could Nevaya and I don’t think Nevaya looks pretty at all.

Nevaeh is GORGEOUS, don’t like haters (haters from a people who based on majority actually like and connect to naming their child LOUISE for crying out) keep you from naming your baby what you love. I met a little girl named Nevaeh a few years ago, she was so beautiful, sweet, and playful (a daughter of my then ex’s step brother) and looked part hispanic would long silky dark hair and big bright eyes, she was adorable and the name suited her perfectly. It was the first time I ever heard that name so the memory stands out to me when the name comes up.

Thanks for the input you guys!! We don’t like the fact that other people hate that it is heaven spelt backwards! We do think that’s its a beautiful name and we would love to use it! Can you let us know if you think we should just use Nevaeh, or go for another name? If so, we would really appreciate suggestions. Thanks - Lucy

Poster 9, you do know that the poll poster didn’t consider using the spelling Nevaya, I suggested it. I was just trying to help her come up with a different spelling that may not be mispronounced. I agree that Neveah is a much better spelling than my suggestion but again, I was just trying to help! Poster 5

Just use Nevaeh. Nevaia/Nevaya looks like the butchered spelling that a teen mom would use. Nevaeh is a beautiful name but not when you butcher the spelling.

I just think it’s the holy grail of tacky and stupid to be quite frank. You might as well name her Heaven--nothing wrong with it! Nevaeh is just stripper-ish. I’m just saying what everyone thinks about it.

I think it’s pretty and if you love it use it!

Thank you both! We really appreciate your help and spelling/name suggestions. I think we are going to go with Nevaeh unless we find a name we love even more. Thank you so much - Lucy

Thank you! We think it’s beautiful too! :) - Lucy

Poster 14, what do you REALLY think?! Could you be anymore tactless?!! Do you kick puppies too?

Ignore the rude people and name her Neveah/Nevaia whatever the spelling, it’s a pretty name and if you love it don’t let anyone stop you!

The name Nevaia will get butchered constantly. Your daughter will spend her entire life having to spell, respell, pronounce, re-pronounce, and explain her name. It also looks like a bunch of letters all jumbled up (just my opinion, not trying to sound mean). How about Neva?

That was always a problem I had as well. I liked the way Nevaeh was said, but the spelling really bothered me. Nevaya is another way to go, but it might have the same problem Nevaia does - that people will think it’s Nuh-vy-uh.

I like Nevaeh. I don’t understand why ppl hate the name so much. Every name at some point in time was "made up"
