Yes vs. No

I really like the name Cheydin or Chaydin. It’s pronounced like Hayden with a CH at the front. It would definitely be a boy’s name, and we would call him Chay for short. Is that too weird? Should I just stick with a typical name? If you like the name, could tell me which spelling you prefer? Thank you!

I don’t like it. Sorry. It sounds too fake and it’ll get butchered constantly. Your son will go through the exhausting ordeal of having to spell, re-spell, pronounce, re-pronounce and explain his name every time he meets someone new. His whole life. Don’t do this to him. Don’t sentence him to a life of headaches.

Sorry I don’t like it. I think the Aiden, Caden, Hayden sounding names are way over used and this one is a little too made up for my preferences.

I don’t like it because it sounds made up and girly. Maybe: Asher, Chance, Chandler, Keegan, Landon, Nolan, Peyton, Shane, Waylon

I think people will still mispronounce it and say "Hayden."

I like the name, I think people are simply not used to hearing it, but I can see it becoming more popular. I like the spelling Chayden but Cheyden is cool too as it reminds me a bit of a Native American style, almost like Cheyenne in appearance only obviously. I really like the nn Chay/Chey a lot!! If you spelled it Chaden you could use the nn Chad too which is really cool. I love it as a longer name for Chad as well.
If you love the name, totally go for it!! People are always skeptical of what they’ve never heard. But if you’re not sure, that doesn’t mean you should go with a typical name, always go with what feels right and what YOU love. Besides, its the original thinkers that break the ceilings for names to begin with, and thank God for that, could you imagine a world of Mary, Sue, Beth, Jenny, Carol, Bob, Joe, etc... everywhere you turned...

GL!

also, even though I like the name with a strong CH as in Chad sound, I think it sounds AMAZING and incredibly handsome with a softer ch more like an sh sound.

Again, best of luck!

I think it sounds completely trendy and falls right into the "ayden" names, which I can’t stand. I also would’ve assumed it was a girl based on the sound and spelling. Shaydon look the most masculine, but I would choose Chaydin out of your two.
