I voted for Alexa because it’s a lovely Name, I think girl’s names nowadays have to end with a/y/e. So it would be my first choice.

I think of sporty, bubbly and sweet. For nn I like Alex best or Lexa.

I like Lexi as a nn but I think you might just want to see what comes naturally. I see Alexa as strong, kind and confident. :)

I actually know a big Alexa and used to take care of a little one years ago. They’re both bubbly, sweet, and strong-willed, lots of fun to be around!
No real opinions on nicknames, they’re both fine, and nicknames tend to evolve with time, anyway! The big Alexa I know ended up as Yaya because her little brothers couldn’t say Alexa!
