Miles Andrew vs. Seraphina Kate
Hi I’m having B/G twins out boys name is set. Our girls name has caused a stir, when our family/friends heard it they said it was very ’teen momish’. I hate this term, but any way do you guys think it’s a name that young mothers would commonly use and be negatively associated with?
Thanks in advance Olivia and Drew.

It doesn’t fit with Miles at all. It’s not teen momish, it’s just different to Miles.

Thanks, Miles is my brothers name so that’s why it’s set. I know it’s a different style but Seraphina is just a name that feels right to me. :)

You should t care what others think. If it’s the name you love, go for it.

But the beauty is, you are their parents, and it’s your decision! If you love it, go for it. For this reason, I recommend keeping names a secret until the baby is born. Most people manage to keep their opinions to themselves then, and just fall in love with the new baby. The names are both great, just not matchy-smatchy. Personally, I prefer multiples to have non matchy names, but again--your decision. Any way you decide, congratulations!!

Seraphina is a really uncommon name--not even in the top 1000. It’s not teen mommish. Don’t worry! Miles and Seraphina are lovely.

Both names are wonderful and sound great together. I think Seraphina is very classy and unusual; not teen mumish at all.

It’s best not to mention names to others (even family) until the baby is born. If you do, they’ll always find something negative to say and it’ll drive you nuts. Also, I wouldn’t worry if Miles fits well with Seraphina because your babies will be individuals and will be living most of their lives not under the same roof. Therefore, names "going together" won’t matter in the long run.

I don’t think it’s teen momish. It’s a legit, older name. It makes me think of someone Italian, honestly.
I agree with you about disliking the term "teen momish" in regard to names because most teen moms have better taste than to go with the sort of names that are associated with the term. But the younger a person is, the less likely they are to realize the burden that some of these trendy, misspelled, incorrect gender names can be for the child. So younger parents can be more apt to use those sorts of names and a stereotype is born.
And I don’t really think it’s a problem to have siblings with different style names. Not that Miles and Seraphina are terribly different styles. But my two oldest kids have very different types of names and it isn’t a big deal at all.
