Twins vs. !

Me and my husband are expecting twin girls, so we each decided to come up with some names. He liked Kaitlyn while I prefered Kaelyn. Then we decided how about we name them both with names that start with "K". Of course we won’t be using both because they are too alike. What are some nice names that will fit twin girls?

The Top Baby Name is...

I am a twin, and believe me when I say this--do NOT start their names with the same letter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Twins are INDIVIDUAL PEOPLE, not a set!!!!!!!!!!! Please, I’m begging you on my HANDS AND KNEES!!!!!! Do NOT DO THIS TO YOUR CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you don’t see many Karens running around anymore

Do NOT give your twins names that start with the same letter. Even if you "think it’s cute" they won’t be babies forever. TRUST ME when I say that doing this will be the biggest mistake you’ll ever make.

I am a twin, and I agree infinity percent with the person above. Doing this to your own children is just cruel. I don’t mean to be rude, I just feel VERY strongly about this!!

Don’t start their names with the same letter.

Try giving your other daughter a name that starts with a different letter. They won’t be cute little babies forever.

I am a twin, and I HATE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If our names started with the same letter, I would SCREAM AND GO INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay everyone okay... I wasn’t doing this because it was "cutesy" and all it was just a thought. Anyway, I think I’ve gotten the message LOL so if anyone wants to actually suggest names that would be lovely :) doesn’t have to be same letter..

Twins are individual people and starting their names with the same letter will only ever be a challenge for them. Please, for the welfare of your daughters, do not do this!

What is wrong with you people and same letters? They came asking for names

How about ...

Kaia and Kennedy
Krista and ...well some other K name lol
posted by Thatshyrandomperson :: 9 years ago | report
I prefer Kaitlyn over Kaelyn. I would also suggest not starting them with the same letter; that makes it even more difficult for people to tell them apart.

I agree with the previous 7 posters and number 2. Don’t start their names with the same letter. YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you 12th poster! Kaia and Kennedy are two lovely names maybe one of them could be used :) xx

When I said I agree, I meant with the people who we’re saying not to start their names with the same letter.

Okay understood lol 18th poster.
And 19th poster - I’ve always loved Christina but it is a close friends name so I don’t really want it to seem like I’m naming her after her :)

I understand now that it was just a thought and I’m sorry that I sort of freaked out.
Btw, congratulations on having twins!
posted by guest :: 9 years ago | report
Yes, congrats! :) Sorry I sort of lost it too. My apologies! That thought was perfectly logical, and if you really like k names that much then go ahead!
posted by guest :: 9 years ago | report
Neither are K names, but I currently have a Danielle and if this one ends up being a girl, she will be Natalie. My two easiest suggestions! :-)

I like Lydia, Charlotte, Theresa, Adeline, Caroline, Grace, Amelia, Eleanor, Katya, Samantha, Maya, Rebecca, Alice, Adele, Adelaide, Bella, Bianca, Genevieve, Fiona, and a bunch of others I can’t think of at the moment...

I made one of those awful anti-first-letter posts and I’m terribly sorry! You can use the same letter if you really want to. I read my post again and I can’t believe I wrote that stuff I just wasn’t thinking. I just want you to know I have no hard feelings. Like other people are saying, congratulations! You must be so excited. Twins!

33rd - It’s perfectly fine lol! And thank you so much as well :)

I think it fine to give them names that start with the same letter as long as they’re not too matchy. They’re your children not theirs.

Kaitlyn and Karly

Kaitlyn and Alyssa
Kaitlyn and Hannah
Kaitlyn and Breanna

Delilah? Last time I checked no D names were in the top 100 but it’s a new year now. The statistics I checked were from May. Also, if you like that k sound you can use a c or ch like Christiana, or a soft c sound like Celia Cecilia or Cynthia.

I forgot to mention a few. Some are a bit outdated but more than ready to make a comeback. Clara, Helena , Jane, Laura , Laurel, Carolyn, Sylvia and , my guilty pleasure name, Sylvaine. There’s something just so beautiful about aine names. Lorraine, Germaine, Elaine , ah.... And HOW could I forget to mention my ABSOLUTE all time favorite name...........
Martha
Best wishes! :)

I think the same person keeps reposting with their anti-twin agenda. My siblings are twins and they love that their names begin with the same letter. They are still very much individuals. Besides they are now grown and living completely separate lives. Most people don’t even know they are twins let alone know both their names.
Suggestions:
Katelyn
Kiana
Kimra
Kathryn
Katherine
Karina
Katya
Kira
Koren
Kirsten
Kristen
Kayleigh
Kamria

Maeve
Melanie
Marina
Marian
Lorna
Lilah
Lorelei

Isla
Gemma

Yeah i kept posting the anti -first letter posts and just want to let you know I’ll never do anything like this again. I know now that you were not asking for another k name because you thought it was "cutesy" but because you both seem to like k names (I do too, btw). Most of mine were the hysterical ones. I freaked out initially then just got so wrapped up with posting that I just kept posting and posting and posting. At one point i worked myself up so much that I did the worst-- I lied. I said that I hate being a twin, which is TOTALLY not true--I love it! I know what i did was wrong and dishonest and i was feeling guilty all night and had to post this. I already posted several apologies but I just wanted you to know that I was accountable for more than just 1 or 2 posts. I’m so sorry I made it sound like a whole bunch of people were opposing YOUR decision when in reality it was just a couple. I never intended to hurt anyone’s feelings and I have no hard feelings toward you. Again, my apologies!
And also again, congratulations on having twins !
