Nickname vs. For

Hi, I just posted below about middle name ideas for Jeannette, but I’m also looking for a great nickname for her too. I don’t like Jean or Jeanie. Our other kids nicknames are Zack, Josie and Lina.

My cousin Jeanette is nicknamed "Nettie". I think you could get away with Ettie, Etta, Jenna and Jenny as well.

Or what’s her middle name? If it starts with a C, she could be called JC.

When her personality forms once she’s older, a nickname can be determined by that. Growing up my dad nicknamed with Scout, but my name is Emily. Scout kind of just evolved when I was a toddler. Call her Jeanette until her personality comes through and then pick a nickname based on that.

Since her name is two only syllables, it makes sense to call her Jeanette. I agree with the other poster who said let her determine if she wants a nickname when she gets older. Not every kid needs a nickname.
