It is for me...I think name meanings are important...very important. I actually liked some names more than the one I chose for my son due to the meaning....I have a friend named Mallory (means unlucky) she has the worst luck of anyone I’ve ever met. She was seriously born without common sense though. I blame her name she is definately a malformity.

Name meaning rarely ever come out in conversation or anything. If you like the name, go for it! I like the spelling Marah.
