Josephine ? vs. meaning?
Does anyone know anything about the name Josephine? I’m hoping there’s a Greek goddess, a queen or something significant associated with it. Anyone know anything? I want my daughter’s middle name to have some significance, not that it just "sounds good". Thanks!

It was the name of Jo in Little Women, one of my favorite books. She was a very strong female character.

yeah Josephine means God Will Increase, it’s French, the feminine form of Joseph, it’s 224 on this years SSA list, so just out of the top 200, don’t know about any Greek Goddesses or Queen’s called Josephine,but my great Aunt was called Josephine! Sorry don’t know anything, the significance is that you like it and it has a nice meaning, what’s the first name?

My mums mn is Josephine. I never liked it much as a kid but I do like Josie or Jos I think they sound great as nn
