Charlotte Elizabeth vs. Yes vs. No
Hi all, I’m due In 4 days and I had picked Charlotte Elizabeth for my girls name, but now I feeling can’t use it because Will and Kate have names the new princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. Charlotte has been my favourite name forever and is one of the only names my husband and I agreed on. Elizabeth is my grandmothers name and my mothers mn so I want it in there. I just don’t want people to think were copying them so should I change it, would you automatically draw the conclusion we copied them if you heard it on the playground?

If you love it go for it. Doesn’t really matter what other people think.

The timing is very unfortunate - since your baby girl will be born so close after the little princess. It is a classic name combination however and will always be somewhat popular - although it’s rather well known and associated with the british monarchy from now on. If you can live with that, go for it. If not, perhaps Charlotte Elise would be an alternative?

I think I’ll have to change it. Either:
Charlotte Isabel (good suggestion I never knew this)
Charlotte Eliza or
Charlotte Bethany
I don’t think it’d be fair for my daughter to constantly have that association and for people to think her parents were unimaginative..
Which should I choose of the 3?

Keep it! It’s a timeless, classic name that will always be a fairly popular combination among all who love traditional names, not just the royals. It’s a great name.
