Moira vs. Keely vs. Tirzah

I like unique names, something not within the top 1,000. My husband likes traditional names, but I’m trying to convince him that people won’t think these names are too weird. What do you think of these? Too weird? Moira is Welsh for "star", Keely is Irish for "beautiful" and Tirzah is Hebrew for "pleasing". The middle name will be Lynne, after my husband’s mother, and our last name has two syllables and starts with S. - Kristin & Caleb

I agree with your husband, I think they are tooooo weird!! Are they for a girl or boy?

If boy, maybe Finley, Nolan
If girl, Moriah, Kelsy, Tiereny

Gwyneth has never been in the top 1,000 and hasn’t been seen since 1994. It’s Welsh, too! I love traditional names. Run this name by Caleb and see what he thinks:
Gwyneth Adelaide
I LOVE it!

I think Moira is pretty and, although not common, has probably been heard of by most people. I’m similar- I like names that aren’t too out there, but are still different. My daughter is named Hala (rhymes with Paula). It is Arabic for Halo around the moon, African for unexpected gift and a myriad of other meanings in other languages and can actually be found in many a baby name book. I hear it every once in a while, but have never actually met another Hala.

Gwyneth Adelaide is very elegant and rare.

To clarify, it’s a girl.

We can’t do Tierney, because that’s my niece’s name. Other names out of the running because they belong to nieces, counsins or close family friends are Emily, Sadie, Ashley, Kaitlyn, Faith and Lily.

I do like Gwyneth or Gweneth though! We’ll add that one to our list.

Oh! And, the middle name is Lynne. That can’t be changed. So we’re looking for

_________ Lynne S_______

It’s spelled Gwyneth. :) Have I seen you on other polls?

Jessica - Yeah, you probably have seen me on other polls. I have been addicted-ly commenting on polls all evening. I also posted a poll asking about the name Lucy, short for Lucile. That’s the only name my husband and I agree on. But I’m afraid Lucile "Lucy" Lynne sounds too southern.

Did I comment on that one? I might have because I’m sad that I can’t use Lucy. :(

I love the name Keely. I have Keely Shay on my list. I definately do no care for the name Gwyneth. It would be shortened to Gwen which is one of my least liked name. Keely sounds cute and spirited.

We named our daughter Niamh. It’s Irish and means bright, radiant, and is pronounced like Eve starting with an N. Could be spelt Neve

i like Keely best out of all of these but that could b because its the most well known, however i know one actress called this and one lil girl who is 3 and hers is spelled Keeley, but i don’t think Keely Lynne flows well, i don’t like Gwyneth either sorry, i love Niamh, if you spell it Nieve its Spanish and means snow
