I love both the names Isla and Lila. Whenever I look at polls which contain both names people always love Lila and dislike Isla. I am just curious as to why everyone loves Lila, but not Isla. If you could just post a short explanation in the comments stating why you prefer one to the other that’d be great!

Lila feels more complete and sophisticated to me. Isla almost has a nn feel.

I think Isla is a bit more unique than Lila and I also think that Isla is the better name. I can’t explain why more than that but I guess it’s just more pleasing to the ear?

How do you plan to pronounce Isla? Eye-lah, Iz-lah or Ice-lah? Maybe that’s what the problem is!?!

I don’t know who everyone is but I LOVE the name Isla! However, I don’t care for the name Lila at all. To me Isla seems like a young & pretty name & Lila sounds very old fashion & dull. Best of Luck!!!

I actually DON’T prefer Lila to Isla. I think Isla is really beautiful and Lila I’m sort of in between on... on one hand it’s kind of stunning (as is Isla) but then it sounds "southern belle-like" and a bit tacky almost... like too frilly or something... Isla is more nature-y or naturally beautiful and goddess-y sounding to me.

I like Lila but I love Isla!
The only reason I could possibly imagine for people disliking it is maybe they are concerned about pronunciation issues but if so I think they are over worrying about it.I believe most people will know how to say it right and for the few who mess it up it’s simple enough to explain "Isla like in Island"

I hate Isla, no offense. In my opinion the spelling makes it so overly flowery and girly it makes me want to barf.
Lila is a lot simpler. I still don’t care for it too much, though. Too common.

For Isla, pronunciation is definitely a factor in preferring Lila. I have heard it pronounced different ways and I never really know which is correct or preferred. And looking at it, it just reminds me of the misspelled word Island. Lila gets my vote.
