Luis is Spanish so I would be inclined to use this spelling only if I was Spanish. I think I prefer Louis anyway. Love the name btw!

Depends on the pronunciation. Luis is Spanish and pronounced differently than Louis.

Agree with above and would only use Luis if you are latin.

LUIS: loo-EES, emphasis on 2nd syllable with a long E sound
LOUIS: LOO-iss, emphasis on 1st syllable with a short I sound.
Both are nice. Just depends which sound you like better.
