WDYT of vs. Mariel?

Just wondering what yall think of this name? And also, do you pronounce it ’Mary-ell’ or ’Mahry-ell’? We don’t really have any other girl names that we both agree on and like so we are open to suggestions also. Thanks :) -Rosanne, Rafael & Damian Wayne (4)

pp, I think I’d be much more embarrassed by a "trendy" or "modern" name like Piper or Izabbel or Jaxon than any old fashioned name.

That being said, I think Mariel is NOT old-fashioned (that would be Muriel). I think it’s a nice spin on the standard Mary/Marie. And I say it MARY-ell, although MAR-ee-ell is lovely too.

I think it’s pretty. I say mary-ell and I think Mary or Elle would also be cute nicknames. I agree with the above poster that I’d be more embarrassed by "trendy" or "modern" names.

Mahry-ell, with nickname Mari (Mahry). Look up the choreographer Mariel Madrid! She is amazing.

I really like this name and agree 100% with poster 4. I think I would pronounce it Mary- el but either way it’s pretty.
