Emersyn Kate vs. Emerson Kate

We love the name Emerson (Emersyn) Kate for a girl, but are conflicted on which spelling to use. The original spelling is Emerson, but we think adding the ’yn’ looks more feminine with our last name. However, I am a teacher and I have seen so many parents use ’yn’ to make a name look more girly and it has gotten to be a little ridiculous. Thoughts? (And yes, we know that Emerson is originally a male name, but many other female names we that way once too.)

Help! I love the name Guinevere, but I can't think of a really good brother and sister name for her. Since Guinevere is so empowering, I want the next names to be powerful as well. Thanks, Genie!
Baby Name Genie:
You seek the Holy Grail of names. Let me help you in your quest. The brother of fair Guinevere will fight on foot with swords aplenty, but on his horse he'll surely lance a lot. Name him Edward for a regal name. A sister could be dubbed Katherine if greatness is what you desire.
