Completely confused. Why not just use Beatrice Jane? I mean, it’s pretty much the exact same sound!!

I think it is appropriate to use James if it is a family name (whether a given name or a surname). If it is not a family name, then use something else.

Why does it matter if it’s a family name or not? She’s not going to explain to everyone who hears/sees her middle name "it’s a family name". And even if she did what difference does that make? A boys name is a boys name. End of.

I don’t really like James on a girl and it doesn’t flow with Beatrice as they both end in the same sound.

I’ve never liked James on a girl. Have you thought of alternatives like Jane, Eames, Amie etc.? Your other daughter’s name is super feminine and pretty, Beatrice Jane would work really well with it.
