you’re gonna have that student for one year and then never see them again. If you love the name, use it, or go for a similar alternative. What is the name? maybe we can give some suggestions.

I would still use it. It’s not the name’s fault some parent doesn’t know how to train their child properly.

When I was young Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos became infamous overnight. I made up my mind that I would not let them ruin the names. Luckily it worked. And this will be your own child.

I think that because you still love the name it’s ok to use it and the association hasn’t ruined it. for me there are names I would never even consider using because of bad associations so I think it’s dependent on the person and perhaps whether you found the name before or after you met the person. Like I met a Gabriela when I was in elementary school who was a horrible person and a bully and therefore when I look at names lists that name disgusts me where as A love the name Simon and then met a boy named Simon who I disliked very much but I still like the name Simon and would consider naming my child that.

If you love the name, then go for it. You’ll soon forget any other associations when your little bundle of joy appears!
