Word names? vs. Your thoughts?

What is your over all perspective on word names? Do you like a particular style of word names, like flowers or virtues? When does it get to the point for you that word names aren’t cute, they’re just ridiculous. Like Apple. What about word names that aren’t usually considered word names, like Mark or Jack? Would you give your child a word name? And so on. Just want to hear your overall thoughts. Thanks!

I think word names are okay. I am opposed to pairing them together like Summer Rain, too much of a description for me.

I love flower word names (Poppy, Lily, Daisy etc)
And colour word names (Ruby, Scarlett, Violet even Blue as a middle name for a boy maybe) not fussed about animal type word names (don’t mind some Fox/Falcon etc) but I’d probably only use some as a middle. I think nature (colour, flowers, animals..) word names are all pretty much adorable but some such as Destiny, Princess, King are really tacky (imo) .. And Apple etc are just ridiculous. But that’s just my opinion.

It all depends on the middle name and what the word itself is. I like the name Grey, but only of it’s paired with a name like Adam or Samuel. And a name like Violet Rain sounds pretty corny to me

I like flowers and colors. (Ruby, VIolet, Scarlett.) but not together. Like 2 colors in one name is too much

My answer is similar to others - I’m ok with word names just not combined.

Except for Hope, I prefer words that have virtue meanings over the actual virtue name (e.g., Charis instead of Grace).

Generally I like nature or color word names best. Some of the others - Apple, Navy, Satchel, sounds odd to me because meaning is so important to me.

Some I really like and others I really dislike.
Random thoughts...
Most nature names such as Brooke or Willow are very nice but if they get too over the top like Rainbow or Sunshine for example. Then they take on a "hippie" vibe.
I do tend to love flower/plant names.I would definitely name my Daughter something like Lily,Violet or Ivy.
I don’t mind virtue names (like Grace or Faith)or month names (like May or June)but for some reason I usually prefer them in the middle name spot.
I would definitely avoid names like Chastity or Destiny because so many people seem to view them as "stripper names"
A name I like that doesn’t quite fit in any of these categories is Paige.I think it helps when a word name is spelled differently than the actual word like in this case Paige/page.
As I’m typing this I’m realizing how few boy examples I’m coming up with. Now that I think on it there are very few male word names that I’m a fan of.I do like Reed,River and August on boys and there’s probably a few others I’m just not thinking of at the moment.

I like word names, like flowers and seasons and such. I don’t care for word names that aren’t as common as names, I guess. I also think when it’s a word that’s used in every day life often, it’s awkward.
