Esme? Which do you prefer? My husband and I are torn on how we want to pronounce it. We live in the united states in a very small town. We’ve heard both pronunciations on little girls.

I think the traditional pronunciation is Ez-may. "Ez-mee" is not the proper way to pronounce the name, but the phonetic pronunciation in English.

My best friend is Esme (ehz-me) and I think it’s really pretty. To me the other one sounds like a mispronounciation of my best friend’s name, but it is still very lovely.
I personally have a slight preference to ehz-me.
They are both stunning though, excellent taste! Good luck.

I would assume that Esme was said like Ez-may. I don’t think Ez-me is very pretty.
