Lennon for a boy vs. too girly vs. perfect for a boy

My wife really loves the name Lennon for our son. I’m not sure about it yet. What do you think? I mean she loves this name has wanted to use it since she was young. She is a huge Beatles fan. We already have a kid in the family named Jude so that is out of the question. I just can’t help but be reminded of linen. I’m not sure its a strong enough name either. What do you think? Oh yeah we also have a 4 year old daughter (from her previous marriage) named Lucy Sky (I told you she is a big fan). Please help. Thanks Dylan

I haven’t seen Lennon on a girl and I don’t want to. I think you should choose the name. Your wife already payed tribute to the Beatles with Lucy Skye. (I’m bias to Lucy) :D

I like it. It’s strong enough ... doesn’t sound girly at all to me.

It’s okay. I don’t really prefer it on any gender, really...

How about:
Harrison or Maxwell

You could also do: Harris Lennon (George Harrison and John Lennon) or Harrison Maxwell (same as above and Maxwell’s Silver Hammer) or Lennon Maxwell or Maxwell Harris/on

Lucy is a great name. I’m glad she chose it but Lennon on the other hand I just don’t think I can handle it. I thought of Cartney but I’m not sure if thats any better. She would probably never go for Paul its too normal. If I could name him anything I would like him to be Max or Alex. Just something common like that. She pretty much controls everything though so I’m going to have to work up the courage to confront her about this.

Well then Maxwell or Max works out! You could also maybe get a Henry "Harry" for Harrison in there... I just don’t think it should be as obvious as Lucy’s name. Plus, you should have some say.

I forgot to mention she has already told people she is naming him Lennon. She doesn’t even ask me and I really didn’t say anything. I’m very laid back but his kind of has me upset.

You need to tell her exactly how you feel and you two should find a name that you BOTH love. If you don’t have a say in this, how will you have any say when it comes to parenting your child??

You should say something.
I love the suggestion of Jay!!!!

I definitly do not like the name Lennon. Plz do your son a favor by not letting your wife name him Lennon. Maybe she would go for using it as a middle name.
Carter Lennon
Jay Lennon
Mavwell Lennon
Alexander Lennon (nn Alex)

I like the name, especially on a boy, but I don’t like the controversy behind it. You need to speak up NOW though, and tell her you’ll have to decide TOGETHER on something else.
