Can Joss vs. Stand Alone?

My husband and I love the name Joss for our son, but my husband thinks it can’t stand alone as a first name and would be better as a nick name. I disagree and think it’s fine alone. WDYT? Can Joss stand alone? If not, what are some things it could be short for?

Never heard Joss as a nickname for anything. I think if you’re going to use Joss, just use Joss.

the only thing I could think of is Joseph, but Joss is fine alone

Joss seems fine standing alone. I think it could also work as a nickname for John, James, Joshua, or Josiah.
