Honor mom vs. Choose combination I prefer

We have decided on naming our little girl Juliet. I really wanted to honor my mother by using her name for the middle name (Louise) but fell in love with the combination of Juliet Rose. I just don’t feel like Juliet Louise flows as well. Do you think much emphasis is put on middle names? Would you go with the less desirable sounding combination but honor a family member or the more flowing combination that sounds better? My mother is healthy and will be here to watch her grow. I am torn. What would you choose?

You could always use two middles names. Juliet Rose Louise or Juliet Louise Rose.

I also like Louisa. Juliet Louisa Rose.

I think Juliet Louise sounds good. Juliet Rose would be lovely, too, but I would personally choose the meaning and honoring.

In the long run, family connections are a huge deal. So I’d vote for Juliet Louise. Though the two middle name thing is a good idea, too.

Juliet Rose does sound lovely, but Rose has become rather generic as a middle name. It will be the Marie or Ann of the current generation. Louise is much commonplace and still sounds really nice with Juliet. Honoring your mother is icing on the cake. She will be thrilled and your daughter will always have that special connection to her grandmother.

I think that’s the right choice. Rose is also a very common middle name, so it’ll most likely just get forgotten about as opposed to having a middle name with more significance.
