Theo Emerson vs. Yes vs. No

A little while ago, we picked the name Theo Emerson for our son. But my husband is having second thoughts about it thanks to his mother. We know we don’t like Theodore, so please don’t suggest that with the nickname Theo. Emerson stays as his middle name. Is Theo Emerson a good name? Does it fit well with older brothers Tyler Joseph and Dylan Parker(5), and Liam Derek(2)? Thanks! ~Nicole & Tony

I don’t know if it necessarily "fits" with Tyler, Dylan, and Liam, but I don’t think it has to. In my opinion, Theo Emerson is a fine name. Strong and masculine just like the names of your other sons.

I think Emerson would be best as his first name especially if you’re concerned about his name fitting in with his brothers. Theo is a rather outdated name imo when his brothers aren’t

My husband doesn’t want to use Emerson as his first name because of it being popular on girls lately. But thanks for that idea though! His mother told him the same thing, that Theo is outdated compared to Tyler, Dylan, and Liam. But I still think it’s perfect. ~Nicole & Tony

Emerson is awesome imo. What about Leo Emerson? That would be a cool name.

While we both love the name Leo, I have a nephew named Leonard who goes by Leo. Even though we don’t see my brother and his family that often because they live in a different state we still don’t want to use the same name as them. That’s actually why we chose Theo, because it sounds so much like Leo! Thanks for the idea though! ~Nicole & Tony

I think Theo Emerson is lovely-- and to me, fits fine with the others. I don’t see any reason to switch to something else.
The only other name I can think of that sounds similar is Rio. Good luck! :)
