Wdyt of Edeline (Ed-i-line) Ruby vs. For our daughter?

My name is Hannah and I am expecting a baby with my husband Alex. We are super ecstatic to be having our first child! We love the name Adeline but we think it it is too old fashioned. We came across the name Edeline (Ed- i- line). Her middle name would be Ruby after my grandmother. Wdyt?

Edeline is fantastic. I love Adeline too, but Edeline has a quirkier vibe. It reminds me of edelweiss and Edsel cars. (both positive references for me) Edeline Ruby is darling. Potential nns: E, Eddie, Del. Good luck! :0)

I like it. We strongly considered it as a middle name for our last child. We were trying to find a nice female version of Edward and liked Edeline best.

My kids have since pointed out that it’s the name of one of the princesses on Barbie’s Twelve Dancing Princesses. They think that’s cool.

I prefer Emmaline.

Sorry, Emmeline. I guess you can spell it either way though.

I love Ruby as the middle name! I’m not a fan of Ediline though. Adeline Ruby would be just fine and Adeline is so much prettier than Ediline in my opinion. Ediline also sounds more old fashioned than Adeline does to me. You might also like Emmeline, Caroline, Adelaide, or maybe Coraline.

I think Edeline is very pretty. It will probably get mistaken for Adeline sometimes. But it’s lovely, especially with Ruby for a middle name.

I like the name Adeline so much better! I don’t think Adeline is old fashioned, however I do think Edeline sounds older & is less attractive. Best of Luck

Adeline or Emmeline are prettier IMO. Addy and Emmy are better nn’s than Eddie too.
