Kids are Francesca ’Franny’ Violet, Grace ’Gracie’ Matilda, twins Dashiell ’Dash’ Frederick and Dexter ’Dex’ Chase. Franny has just turned 4 and I am wondering about asking teachers to call her Franny at school or leaving it as Francesca. Would like opinions on my names as well. I say just let the teachers call her by her real name Francesca and tell them she also goes by Franny(that way they can choose). I think it’s good for kids to get familiar with their real name not just by their nn.

If you’re not sure about Franny, another nn she could go by is Francie, or just Fran but I’d still give teachers her full name. You call her Franny at home but I wouldn’t set that in stone for everyone to call her that.

I agree with poster 1. I think that she should go by her full name unless the teacher chooses to call her by her nn
