Bellamy vs. Isabelle

Which one? No need to tell me that Bellamy is a boy’s name. It’s a surname and I checked the stats. Bellamy has never charted on the boy’s side. :)

Since, as you point out, Bellamy is a surname I do think it has a masculine side to it. Surnames typically do. But I also think it is one of the very few surnames that can work for a girl. If you break it down into Bell and Amy it literally means "beautiful friend". On that level, I think it’s fine for a girl. Isabelle, though pretty, has become a little boring for me. So I will vote for Bellamy.

I love Bellamy! I don’t think it’s the least bit masculine as it has the name Bella in it.:)

Isabelle gmv. I generally go for the more classic option. While Bellamy has a pretty sound, it does feel rather here-today-gone-tomorrow. Good luck! :0)

Bellamy is incredibly ugly and completely non-feminine, Isabelle is attractive and completely feminine - easy choice

Never charted for girls either - it’s a surname, not a given name, despite current fads

Bellamy has charted since 2003. It’s not in the top 1000, but they track all names given to five babies or more.
