Georgia Lily vs. Yes vs. No
I’ve looked through the polls and have seen this name or similar. My husband and I love this name for different reasons. Even though it should only matter what we think, we would still like feedback. I have heard a name like this is too descriptive. What do you think? I would like your honest opinion, but please be a little gentle as this name is special to us. Thank you all!

It’s very pretty. I can see how it could be seen as too descriptive, like you were talking about the flower inside the state, but it’s not terrible, especially if it has meaning to you.

Honestly, it just sounds like you are describing a lily from Georgia. What about Georgiana Lily, Georgia Lillian or Lilian Georgia?

We were thinking that since all middle names are really a filler name that Lily is fine. Most people won’t even know her middle name. My name is close to being descriptive (that’s not the reason for this name), but I’m sure nobody I work with knows my middle name. And not many people I went to college with know. Mostly only people who are close to you know. That was our thinking.

Georgia Lily is fine, although it’s a bit too cutest for my taste. I don’t see it aging well. I also really dislike the nickname Georgie!!

Georgia is a great name! If anyone tells you that you shouldn’t name your precious little girl Georgia, still go with it. Does it matter what they think of that beautiful name? They won’t ever get to meet your precious, beautiful, ad cute baby of yours anyways! So I hope you get what I mean and will always love that name. GL !

No one will know her middle name! I’m sure your little girl won’t even know her own middle name until she’s five! Not many will know, except for family members, close friends, or people you know very well. Like, people don’t say: GEORGIA LILY COME HERE!
All they say is: GEORGIA COME HERE!
Well GL

I’ve never liked the name Georgia personally, but there is nothing particularly wrong with it, so if you love it then you should use it!

I don’t like it. :(
It’s horrible
Not my taste
Like, Georgia is a state not a name!
How about North Carolina?!
Haha
I was thinking Jessica instead
That’s better
Better than Georgia
Imagine:
GEORGIE! GEORGIE!
Blah

The name isn’t my taste, but I don’t think it’s horrible like the previous poster said (which was completely rude and unnecessary by the way!) We all have different tastes, and while I’m personally not a fan of the name Georgia, if you and you husband are and it has meaning to you then you should absolutely use it. People have completely different tastes and you will never find a name that everyone likes. Best of luck!

Shows how educated you are. Georgia is more than just a state. If your name is Jessica sorry for that ugly 90’s fad name. Although something tells me you have an incorrectly spelled name...

I adore descriptive names. Actually we have the name Geogia Sky or Violet Sky picked out :) I love Georgia Lily. I personally didn’t see it as descriptive at all until I read your comment. It’s a stunning sophisticated yet playful name :) You do you!

Wow. Well, Jessica is, however, NOT my name. My name is Helen W. Jones. Is that something you call "spelled wrong?" It is however not spelled wrong Miss. I think you’re name is spelled wrong. Well, Madame,(haha) if you think Georgia is so great, WHATEVER. Use it. Who cares about your state baby?!

BY THE WAY THANKS FOR INSULTING MY COUSINS NAME! NOT 90’s fad name!
Is Georgia a 70’s hippy type name? I think so. Georgia is overdated anyways

I love the name Georgia so much! I read some of your comments and I’m just disappointed that you think my name is and ugly 90’s fad name. But Georgia Lily is a beautiful name! The opposite on the Person who is called who needs to know my name Helen person . That person was really rude.

I love Georgia Lily. It is beautiful, stunning, and better than anyone could ask for. Georgie is so sweet as a nickname, and although personally I like Georgina more, this name I love! Good Luck.

It’s an okay name, but I don’t hate it. Your precious little girl has nothing to do with me, so name your new little baby Georgia if you want!

By the way... A name is never spelled wrong. Your parents can name you whatever they want! They can name you Madeline spelled Madelyn or Lilian spelled Lilyann!

Georgia Lily is beautiful! I know a little girl named Georgia Mae. You could also give her the nickname Gigi :) that is if your looking for a nn. Good Luck!
Haha man the comments on this thread are ridiculous!
While in the main I’m not a fan of descriptive names, there are some I make exceptions for, and this is one of them - the two names sound really pretty together, and I’m fairly certain Georgia as a feminine version of George was a name long before the state
