Creative way to vs. honor Harper?

Hi all, Can you help us come up with a creative way to honor the name Harper without actually using it? Long story short, legal papers came through to adopt our daughter, Harper Anne. She has always said she wants to change her name the first chance she gets. First name will be Anna. That’s been set in stone for years, also what we and all her friends have called her for years. No plan for the middle name. We thought maybe we could get creative with Harper (which she hates) so to keep her given name, but if we can’t then we’ll figure something else out. Open to suggestions. Thanks!

Harper Lee wrote to kill a mockingbird, so maybe name her Scout after a character in the book, but it is a stretch.

All I can think of is Lyra, since Harper is supposedly after a harp player (although all I think of is harping people) and harps sound lyrical.

Or just pick a name starting with H.

Or like the pp mentioned, use Harper Lee. You could do Anna Leigh. Her real name was Nelle, but that wouldn’t flow with Anna.

This may be a stretch but since Harper means harpist maybe something music related. Does she like music?

Nothing so far. I think the stranger ones (Hadley, Harden, Honoria, Harmony, etc) are putting her off. Maybe something a bit more normal? I don’t know if it’s possible to get something more popular/normal that’s also honoring Harper...maybe we’ll scratch this idea. Still open to your suggestions!

Maybe just do with a name she loves. After all you are keeping Anna from her birth name.

I agree with Capriana. If she really hates Harper that much, let her pick a name she loves. Or see how she feels about a family name as her middle name. She is part of your family now, after all.
