Ophelia (Lia) Rose vs. Kennedy (Kenna) Grace

Is it okay to name our girl these long names and sort of make up nicknames that go with them. The middle names are definite with the two names. Should we keep these names and the middle names or just completely take out the middle names and which name is better. Thanks, Jon and Jill.

Kennedy means deformed/disfigured head....I’d go with Ophelia nn Lia Grace.

Love Kennedy regardless of the meaning!

A nickname for a longer name is pretty much inevitable. It will come eventually. My first name is Veronica and it started to just automatically get shortened to Ronnie when I got into about 4th or 5th grade in elementary school. It’s definitely okay to go ahead and give her a nickname now, although I would wait until she is a little older to start calling her by it that way she gets used to her full name first and then she can get used to the nickname or even wait until right before she starts school to start calling her by the nickname. I really like Ophelia Rose!

If meanings are important to you go with Ophelia, even thought i hate the relation to the character in Hamlet. My daughters name is Kennedy(nn Keni) she is 26, loves her name and doesn’t care about the meaning.
