I love the name Rowan for a boy. However I know a lot of girls with this name. I know it is unisex but I want people to know hes a boy. I have considered Ronan also

I would use Roman if you want people to automatically think boy. I don’t think it is that big of a deal if people assume wrong.

While Rowan is a unisex name it is definitely more popular on boys for the time being, at least according to the SSA chart. I think most people assume boy when hearing it but I can’t be sure. Ronan is a solid alternative if you really don’t want a unisex name. Also Rohan, which is more similar in sound and definitely masculine.

Rowan is very handsome. Personally I slightly prefer Ronan, but Rowan is a very solid name on a boy in opinion, and if you love it then you should use it. While I’ve heard of Rowan on girls, I typically think boy when I hear the name.

I think Rowan is just fine, and Roan is an alternate spelling you can try. Ronan, Roman or Owen are other similar options.
