We do want to use Willa and Maggie as nicknames. For Dorothy we were imagining Thea. Thank you.

My daughter goes to school with a Willamina and goes by Meena, it’s cute.

I love Magdalene! I wanted to use it for our first daughter but DH was not a fan.

If you are open to variations, Dorothea would sound great with big sis Mathilda.

Willa and Maggie are obvious nicknames and if you are against them then I’d reconsider becsuse they will probably pick those nicknames up in school whether you want them to or not

I am not against nicknames at all.My name is Hilda, always go by Hildie.My husband’s name is Christian and goes by Chris.Our darling Mathilda is Mattie at home. Nicknames are sweet among family and friends. We do like Dorothea a lot :)

I think Wilhelmina would be a great name for Mathilda’s sister. Dorothea would be better than Dorothy. I would not choose Magdalene because she would not only share an initial with Mathilda but both names begin with "ma". Good luck!
