Evie vs. yes vs. no

We love Evie for our daughter but I’m not sure if it’s ok on its own. We don’t like Evelyn at all. Is this ok on its own? If not what are some possible names beside Evelyn that we could use Evie as a nickname for? Please help! Thanks!

I really think it’s better as a nickname. What about Genevieve or Evangeline?

Every
Ever
Evangeline
Evana
Eve
I think Evie is a cute stand alone name, and I actually watch a girl in our church nursery whose name is Evie Grace.

I love Evie and I’m sure it will be just fine on it’s own if that’s what you love most. I personally prefer a more classic sounding name like Eve, Eva, Guinevere, Genevieve, Evangeline, etc with the nickname Evie.

I think it can stand on it’s own btw.

So we really like Genevieve but are concerned people will automatically call her Gen/Jen instead...? What do you think?

I think if you name her Gebevieve but call her Evie then other people will to. I know a Genevieve who goes by Evie. It’s never been an issue. I’m a big fan of longer names with cute nicknames. It gives your child options as they get older. Best of luck!

I know two Genevieve and one goes by Evie and the other goes by Genny. I really think Genevive can have either nickname.

I don’t think you should worry about her being called Gen if everyone is calling her Evie. If you want to give her that full name she does have an option to not always be called Evie later in life. GL

Eva would be nice for a nick name Evie or just Eve. I wouldn’t use Evie as a name in itself, she may not want to be called that when she’s older.

My friend has a Genevieve who is strictly Genevieve, not Gen/Jen.
