First baby vs. New Name help?

My husband and I are expecting our first child, a girl and would like help finding a possible new name for her. We were seriously considering Novalee/Novalie but I read poll comments on the name yesterday and people were telling this lady that it was a teen mom name and that they were not educated and their daughter would be a stripper. If that’s what people are going to think of the name we feel like we shouldn’t use it...wdyt? We are pretty young(23) but we are married and this was planned so there is no regret but we don’t want go stick our daughter with a name she’ll get made fun of for. Do you think Novalee/Novalie is usable or can you help us find an uncommon baby girl name with the same type of feel. We really love Novalee/Novalie but don’t want to saddle our daughter with a name that people hate. We’d love to hear you thoughts or [constructive] criticism

I don’t see anything at all wrong with the name Novalee or Novalie. People are using the name Nova so I don’t see what’s the big deal. I see other names on here that I think sound a little strange but I am sure I will get use to even those after meeting a few people with those names. Names like Carys and Declan etc.

I have to admit that it does come across as a bit tacky to me sorry - kind of in the same category as NEvaeh. You may like Starla or Luna as alternatives?
Otherwise Novalie is the nicer looking spelling in my opinion

I had never even heard of the name Luna until being on this site and it has popped up several times so it must be getting popular. But I personally do not like it at all and think it sounds much more made up than Novalie. I happen to know that Luna means moon in Latin but it still seems ridiculous to me for a name. But I don’t see anything wrong with someone naming their child Luna if they like it. Most names grow on you after you hear them for awhile anyway. So O say name your child Rosalie if you like. I actually like that name myself.

I’m 23 my daughters Elyse :) but they may mean it’s teen mom as one the casts daughters name is novalee and 16 and pregnat daughters nova

Novalee is very pretty. It doesn’t strike me as "teen mom" sounding. No name does, really. I don’t think there’s any such thing. Everyone has different tastes in names. Just because some rude people feel the need to (wrongly) stereotype a name, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use the name on your daughter. They only do that if the name isn’t their style.. Or is too "hip" for them. Don’t listen to other people’s judgements. Especially if those people are strangers. A name won’t make your daughter a "stripper". People make names, not the other way around. I love it. And if you love it, you should use it. Best of luck.

Most people on this site are very helpful but some are rude and take things way to far, I personally think it’s tacky, but I’m also a firm believer that unless there’s obvious teasing potential use the name you love don’t change it based on the fact that it’s not someone else’s taste or preference. If you love the name then it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks . I personally don’t like it . I really like the name Lacey , Annabelle / Annabel. You might like Leanna /Lianna ,Avaleigh/Avalee

Any name ending in the lee sound for girls sound tacky. But that doesn’t mean stripper. Theres a porn star that goes by Riley and moms are naming daughters that even though its a boy name.

I find it a teen mom name. It just comes across as juvenile. There are so many other beautiful names, I think people can do better than Novalee/Novalie.
