Name vs. With vs. John

Naming my son after my Grandpa John. I don’t want the name John though. Obvious name would be Jonathan, but I’m not in love. Any other suggestions with John or Jon in the name somewhere. My other Grandpa was Francis (Frank) so I’m also thinking Franklin John or Franklin Jonathan or Jonathan Franklin, but I’m not sold yet.

I’d go with a double-barrel name, Jon Francis as a whole first name.

Franklin John is sweet!

John is one of those names with lots of variants.

People use the last name Jackson as a first name all the time. Why not use Johnson as a first name? Johnson Frank would sound great!

St. John ("SIN-jun") immediately popped to mind. But outside of the UK it might be more of a hassle than it’s worth.

I recently met a little boy named Johnson, Johnson Frank or Johnson Franklin would be very nice! And my grandfather was named Johnny, that was his given first name, and he always went by John. Johnny Franklin would be nice too!
