Boden vs. Bodhi vs. Bowen
My husband and I absolutely adore the name Bowie for our little boy and we would name him Bowie but our families think it’s not a real name and only a nickname. Would you use Bowie or use one of the above and have Bowie as a nickname? We are between James and Jameson for hus middle name. Let us know your thought and/or opinions

Bowen makes the most sense for the nn Bowie.
I do really like the name Boden though (it is also a mail order fashion company near me, but it’s a good one).
For the nn Bowie I’d definitely go for Bowen. I like Bowen James, it flows better than Bowen Jameson.

In texas it’s pronounced Boo-ey like Texan hero James Bowie, Bowie knife, etc. But if you are going for the pronunciation that was made popular by David Robert Jones when he renamed himself Bowie, then definitely Bowen.

I like Bodhi Jameson if you’re getting a beach or nature vibe from him and Boden James if you’re getting a more serious vibe. I don’t think a nickname has to be strictly from a given name, so either Bodhi or Boden could be called Bowie. As could a boy named Owen! I’m not a fan of Bowen, and I don’t think it’s a strong a name as the others.
