Katherine vs. Katheryn vs. Kathryn

Hi everyone! I have posted before about the first name on this list, but wanted to do a final round and see what spelling others prefer out of these three (which goes the best with our last name). I really like Katherine, but noticed Katheryn and our last name both have 8 letters each. Not that it really matters, but wondered what others opinions might be. I’ve tried this name with a ’C’ but it just feels off to me for some reason. Perhaps just to do with our last name or how my eyes are seeing it. But I do love that version with the right mn/ln combination. Just think if we use this name, we’ll definitely be going with ’K’. Always torn between Elizabeth and Marie as a middle name, but love both. They feel the most comfortable and we’ve tried so many. Interested which one you all prefer and why if you’re feeling up to sharing. :)

Kathryn Marie Sullivan is my favorite!

I’ve always found the Kathryn spelling pretty and I like how both fn & ln ending in "n".

Most of the Katherine/Catherine/Kathryns I know have the mn Elizabeth, so I would go for the less common Marie.

It’s a beautiful name. When spelled with a K, I prefer the first spelling, Katherine. The middle one would probably end up being misspelled so frequently that it would be a headache. My true preference is spelling the name with a C. Of your middle name choices, I have to go with Elizabeth. The combination is quite a classic, Katherine Elizabeth!

I prefer Katherine. Kathryn would be my next choice.

Katherine Marie is very pretty! But so is Katherine Elizabeth. Can’t go wrong either way.

I disagree with poster 3, I actually think a long f/m is very beautiful and Victorian sounding often times. Katherine Elizabeth is stunning! Katherine Marie has such a soft beauty to it that I love. I couldn’t choose as I adore them both.

My name is Kathryn Elizabeth. It was supposed to be Katherine Marie but when I was born, my mother said that three other mothers that had delivered were naming (and spelling it with the ine ending) their daughters that so she switched at the last minute. There were 8 or 9 girls in my graduating class with the name Katherine Marie. I know it isn’t as popular right now but do your daughter a favor and give her the spelling that you prefer. She will love you for it when she is older.

We named our daughter Kathryn. I thought it was a modern take on the beautiful classic, Katherine. Katheryn would be pretty and not overused like Katherine is. Both mns are beautiful. My personal favorite would be Katheryn Elizabeth but you can’t go wrong either way.
